Team Captain perks:

Create a team, recruit at least 5 other teammates and you’ll get your registration fee rebated! Once you’ve got 6 runners on your team, email director@medfordchamberma.com for your coupon code. We’ll also have prizes for the captains of the three largest teams.

Chip timing:
The FREEDOM 5K is a chip-timed event for runners; the chip will be on the back of your race number. The walkers are not timed.

Awards categories:

Wear your stars and stripes in all their glory- Best Costume Prize (judged by the race directors)!!

$100 Cash & Medal to Top Male & Top Female Overall.  Age group awards Medal for:  18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,  60+.  Overall awards are based on gun time; age group awards are based on chip time. Trophies/medals can be claimed at the awards ceremony.

9am FREE YOGA class with Borealis Yoga

9:45am FREE ZUMBA warm up at the start line with Nancy Palladino! 

10:00 am SHARP- FREEDOM 5k race/walk begins

10:30 am FREE ZUMBA class with ZUMBA WITH NANCY! Outdoors in the fine spring air!

After party will be thoughout the City of Medford - walk into participating businesses  with your race bib for freebies and discounts all day!! (Participating businesses, offerings and events  at Medfordchamberma.com) 

Route:

Freedom Way to left on Riverside Avenue, right on City Hall Mall, left on Salem Street, right on Forest Street, left on Lawrence Rd, left on Governors Avenue, left onto High Street straight across Medford Square to Riverside Avenue, right onto Freedom Way.

Dogs and strollers:
Dogs and strollers are welcome in either event – please start from the back if participating in the run and pass carefully.

We are seeking volunteers to help with several aspects of the event. Please email director@medfordchamberma.com if you are interested in volunteering.

Races are more fun with friends and we reward our runners for referring others to our events. When you register, you’ll get a “Sharelink” in your confirmation email so that we can track your referrals.  We’ll have  awesome prizes for the top referrers.

Postponement, Cancellation and Refund Policy:

This is a rain or shine event- HOWEVER In the event of severe inclement weather, event may be postponed to another date. No refunds will be issued due to conflicts with the postponement date. If RACE must cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control, no refunds will be issued.  

Parking: Is available in numerous nearby lots. Location is about 1/2 mile from Wellington Train Station.
