Will You Have Race Swag?

Of Course! The first 150 registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

And We Won’t Forget Our Top Dogs!  We have finisher medals for the Top 3 Men, Top 3 Women, and Top 3 Dog finishers, and Cody’s Creations promises us a bit of extra love for them. The Pet Republic will roll out their doggie ice cream cart for all the pups!  Anna Nason Taylor will be back to capture your pup’s caricature!  Make sure to talk to our key sponsor Lucy’s Lucky Pets if you need pet care services!

Do You Believe in Love?

In addition to the great prizes in the opportunity drawing, we will have a one-of-a-kind unique silent auction prize up for bid.  Tom Taylor was an avid collector and among many of his treasures, is an authenticated pillowcase used by the one and only Cher!  We will have a silent auction for this item.

Come early for the 5K, stay on for the after-PAW-party!

If you are not running or walking in our 5k, you can still join in on the fun! Bring your pup down to take a look at all the great things we have going on at the end of the race!

Guidelines for Participating with a Dog

To keep everyone (and every dog) safe, special rules apply for those participating with a dog at the race.  If you are running/walking with a dog, please keep these guidelines in mind:
  • Limit one dog per person.
  • Dogs must be at least 6 months old and up to date on vaccinations.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.  Leashes should be no longer than 6 feet; please keep it short at the start to avoid entanglement.  No retractable leashes; they are hazardous in a crowd.
  • No female dogs in heat.

som|dog staff or race volunteers will be on hand to assist any runner and his/her dog if a dog appears to be in danger or, in the opinion of staff or volunteers, is being pushed beyond his or her safe limits.   We recommend that dogs run with a harness rather than a neck leash to prevent strain or injury to your dog's trachea.
